Our History

Linney Cooper is an established & family-run flooring company, renowned in creating bespoke interiors by combining traditional methods with modern techniques since 1964.

How we started

It all began in North Wales, 1964, when Robert Hughes started a small carpet company from the basement of his family home; creating his vision of the brand and ethos of high quality supply and installation of floor coverings.

Shortly after, the first Linney Cooper flooring shop opened in Colwyn Bay, selling bespoke carpets and rugs to residential customers.

Twenty years later in 1987 Robert's sons and nephew joined Linney Cooper, helping the company's continued growth by heading up the flooring installation side of the business and in turn securing international contracts.

His grandson also continued the family tradition with Dewi joining in 2012, beginning his career as a carpet fitter to help develop and expand his flooring knowledge.

Linney Cooper Today

Linney Cooper is now being led by the third generation of Hughes' with Dewi Hughes, Robert's youngest grandson, as Managing Director for a company that is highly respected within the carpet and flooring industry with over 60 years experience.

We have a shop in North Wales and two main offices in Llandudno and London where we've designed, supplied and installed floor coverings to some of the most prestigious properties around the world. A few include beautiful estates, super yachts, National Trust, International Hotels and Buckingham Palace where we have received two Royal Warrants for work carried out across numerous Royal residences.

How we have progressed

Linney Cooper has grown from strength to strength since its origins in a North Wales basement to globally supplying and installing carpets whilst having the privilege of working with a number of renowned suppliers in luxury properties.

We currently have a growing team of over 35 employees, including 20 highly skilled carpet fitters that have hundreds of years experience between them.

The company has changed and grown significantly over the last 60 years, most recently being Linney Cooper's fresh new rebrand that represents our evolving presence in the market as a global leader in flooring.

Despite this development we still remain the loyal, trustworthy and customer orientated company we've always been since we began 60 years ago and will always continue to be. We're an extremely proud Welsh and British company.
